Keeping an eye on your treatment wherever you are

It is changing the way we practice orthodontics, allowing your treatment to advance and progress whilst reducing the need for multiple face to face appointments. We can even monitor your treatment while you are on holiday!

What is Dental Monitoring and how does it work?

The system uses images you take yourself using your smartphone which you upload to an easy-to-use app. These images are then transferred to our database and your orthodontist uses them to check your treatment is going to plan. If all is well, you will receive confirmation directly to your phone. Your orthodontist can also offer any advice as necessary and recommend any changes to your treatment regime that may be necessary.

Dental Monitoring significantly lowers the need for frequent in-person appointments and makes your treatment smoother and much more efficient.

Step 1 - ScanBox

We will see you in person at the practice and show you how to use the ScanBox and accompanying app for taking and uploading images at home. Don’t worry, it is very straightforward and easy to use. We’ll happily answer any questions you have about the dental monitoring system.

Step 2 - Taking and uploading images

We will let you know how often you need to be taking photos of your smile for us to monitor your treatment effectively. For most people, this will be once a week. All you will need to do at home, or from anywhere in the world, is take a photo using the ScanBox and send it to us via the app.

Step 3 - Review

We use each photo you send to review your treatment progress and ensure everything is going to plan. This means you don’t have to visit the practice for regular appointments, as everything is done remotely. Your orthodontist will communicate with you via the app and keep you updated on your treatment progress.

Step 4 - Progress

As your treatment progresses, we will be able to see immediately when you would benefit from a face-to-face appointment in the practice and arrange for a date that suits you. You can also monitor your progress at home with the time lapse feature, showing exactly how your teeth are moving towards your dream smile.
